I. Preparation Before Use

Inspection and Disinfection: Ensure the thermometer is intact. Wipe the probe and surface with a 75% alcohol swab and allow it to air dry.

Zeroing Operation: For glass thermometers, shake the liquid column to below 35℃. For electronic thermometers, after turning them on, confirm the screen display is stable.

II. Measurement Method and Time

Oral Measurement (Sublingual): Place the probe under the tongue, close the lips tightly, and measure for approximately 5 minutes.

Axillary Measurement (Most Commonly Used): Place the probe against the center of the armpit, clamp the upper arm tightly, and measure for 5-7 minutes.

Note: Add 0.5℃ to the scale at the top of the liquid column to obtain the actual body temperature.

Rectal Measurement (Suitable for Infants and Young Children): After applying Vaseline, insert the probe about 2 cm into the anus and measure for approximately 5 minutes. Subtract 0.3℃ from the reading.

III. Accurate Reading and Precautions

Reading Techniques: Keep your line of sight level with the top of the liquid column to avoid visual errors.

Key Reminders: Wipe away any sweat under your armpits first; ensure sufficient measurement time (at least 5 minutes); reading rules differ for different body parts.

IV. Post-Measurement Handling

Cleaning and Disinfection: Wipe clean with an alcohol swab.

Storage: Return to the protective case to avoid impact.

Powering On: After disinfection, press the power button and wait for the display to flash.

Measurement: Read the temperature when it rises, the screen stops flashing, and a beep sounds.

Powering Off: Press the power button to turn off after measurement.
